- In 1960, recommended that each usher donate one
cent a week, totaling fifty-two cents a year, to establish a $10,000 educational scholarship fund to
help educate our youth. - In1961,the educational scholarship recommendation was adopted.
- In 1964, the $10,000 goal was attained and scholarships in the amount of $2,000, $1,200, $800 and $400 were awarded to four young people in 1965.

with the representation of five states: Maryland,
New York, Delaware, Pennsylvania and the District of
Columbia (96 persons were in attendance) and
organized the first regional conference (Eastern
Regional Conference), and was rightfully
considered the Dean of our Regional Director.
