 Alumni Department


 Warren Lee,  First Chairperson

The National Alumni Department was founded by George T. Grier in July 1958 at the National Convention held in Cleveland, Ohio.  The first chairperson was Warren Lea from Brooklyn, New York.  He served as chairperson until 1969, he asked not to be reappointed because of his health.

Purpose:
  * To give every assistance possible to our Alma Mater

  * To keep all city and state graduates of the National School of Church
      Ushering together as Church, Charity, School and Civic workers

  * To perpetually increase the Student Body in the National School of
     Church Ushering

  * To contribute to charitable projects

  * Responsible for all the ushering at the seat of the National
    Conventioin

  * In charge of judging the drill and floor demonstration at the
    National Convention

  * Special Projects: (a) Usher of the Year and (b) Book of Seven

In 1963, the George T. Grier button was created in his honor and the Alumni pin was designed.
